By the end, you’ll have your own sketched-out flock: a mix of the real birds you share a home with, and illustrated versions that speak to those around you.
Hi, I’m Jane! Artist, writer, and longtime bird appreciator.
I’m fortunate to live in a little corner of the world where bird life is abundant and I count them amongst my dearest friends.
Sketching and drawing birds is my most favourite thing to do, and I can think of nothing better than sharing that joy. I think of creativity as a way of slowing down and noticing more deeply, and birds have been my favourite teachers in that practice. They’re curious, expressive, and endlessly varied, which makes them wonderful companions for sketching.
My aim with Winging It is to create a space where drawing feels light, free, and accessible – a place where you can explore and enjoy, no matter your level of experience.
We’ll be playing with a variety of mediums- pencil, ink and watercolour- tools that invite looseness, expression, and happy accidents (the best kind of drawing, in my opinion).
